he doesn't understand achievement versus equal opportunity and treatment. which is why he still listens to ron paul propaganda daily. It is harmless, yet totally annoying since the one-eyebrowed limp-dick has retired yet remains to be his personal savior. Most paul people have moved on, but the irrational among them are searching for just the right conspiracy theory to prove they actually didn't get hoaxed.
your observation that rights do not change during one's growth process is a very valid one. ron paul had every opportunity in the world, and achieved very little other than perennial fund raising. having a few sound ideas, no ability to achieve them (demonstrated by decades in congress) basically means he still has his born rights, and chose to execute them via hucksterism. He didn't even achieve a plank in his party's platform.
Was paul entitled to do what he did? i guess, but he spent years on the government payroll doing self-promotion instead of concentrating on his job. not unusual for a politician, but he took it to absurd extremes. his texas constituents were dumb enough to go for it, year after decade. his hypocricy was sufficient for him to badmouth the process he exploited for them. But no one ever accused Texas voters as being particularly bright.
maybe some of his fund raising tenets will be picked up by an actual leader some day, being isolationism, no imperial wars, throwing the poor into the streets, and battling imaginary enemies (as accountants, not soldiers).
Actual improvements in our troubled system will probably be incremental to have a chance... but using bizarre interpretations of the constitution as a base will not move us forward. End of rant, it was meant to agree with you, and i know you are smart enough to know that when the election is over, the results do the speaking. At least you are not acting as if there is some secret cabal that only you know about that is running the store.
