No but I do understand time = money for them, a personal example after filing a loan at the court house I got an additional bill for $10; "why", I asked. "We had to open the letter from the court house acknowledging the filing". So you charge $10 to open an envelope? Yes was the reply.

So I send you my $10 check and ....

No doubt about that, through my dealings with many lawyers only 2 that I know of we're very fair and honest the rest chit chat, stretching the case is the name of the game, bargain , postpone, meet, discuss, try and settle and at the end here is your bill and the amount of hours, no doubt if I were Google lawyers I will know that NO budget is available and at the end even with a loss they will still keep them as clients!
