#44455 RE: bigs #44454

bigs, on Semacode,
you guessed right, it has been discussed;
a couple of highlights; 1, it (a semacode) is a special code that has to be applied to the item, versus using the existing barcode which is on every product now,
and 2, once the "link" is embedded on the product via the semacode, it can never be changed. So, it isn't flexible, and can't be updated. (as opposed to being able to update what is embedded on the product as you can using NEOM IP as the barcode stored info could be updated whenever the client wishes..or with other NEOM IP, rfid, voice, etc)
(oh, 3, semacode has no patents either.)

Also, there is something about it not being applicable for commercial use..will have to dig that detail up again as I don't recall the specifics off the top of my head.

In addition to what Success has already pointed out:

http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=8522126

the BP's who register their Words, Phrases, UPC, EAN, JAN, ISBN or custom made PC bar codes will have this information contained in a data base and will route thru a server which will recognize and acknowledge the querry, or it will not be recognized at all. Recognized codes will connect thru to a 2nd server where the URL querry will be accessed. This is navigation as opposed to search.

All the Best, JP
