Actually that is not what the Mexican papers said. They reported either that the "bodies" were of "Americans" or "United States citizens". Maybe you should read them again.

Of course they do that. Why on earth wouldn't they? Mexico is not the Soviet Union. Alfredo Corchado is quite well known in Mexico. He was born there. Lived there until his sister was killed by the cartels. Got a fellowship to study at Harvard.

In addition, Antonio Neri, the Mexican journalist interviewed by several of the U.S. reporters, said quite clearly that the story about the Corpses in the Santa Rosa was a hoax.
