#26967 RE: ive been had #26966

That is incorrect. VRNG does not own valuable 4G patents, period. They purchased a handful of NOK's patents that cover mainly 2G/3G technologies. Of the patents they do own, they are being enforced against infrastructure - not handsets.

Patents covering 4G handsets (the radio air interface) are owned by many companies, with the lion's share belonging to Qualcomm, LG, Samsung, Ericsson, InterDigital, Nokia, Rockstar, ZTE, and Huawei, amongst others.

Patents covering the system architecture (core network) for 4G are owned by companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, VirnetX, Nokia-Siemens Networks, Ericsson, Rockstar, etc.

Comparing VRNG's telecom patents to those of a major player would be like comparing the home brew your buddy sells at the local brewer's festival to Heineken, Budweiser, or Corona.
