hog, a BIB is used to locate and annihilate mortar crew (airstrike, helio, artillery, etc.), before it ever fires a round. The BIB can see/locate for miles!

Have you ever been in the Army? The Army is trained to always be on the offensive...take the fight to the enemy, always move forward.

Hog, on a 2000 foot tether, the line of sight is approximately 30 miles. I hope that gives some perspective.

They usually have an IED buried at the site of the FOB already--they don't even need to fire a mortar. They can anticipate well where you will locate your outpost. Sometimes you need to hide and sometimes you need to seek. When you do need to seek you need to find the highest high ground you can find--even if you make it with Helium. Warfare has changed and is changing dramatically--it is hard to get one's mind around. But I agree it is hard to understand the BiB with 20th century concepts of warfare. I don't like these changes but they are here to stay for a season. Warmest regards, IndyJonesOhio
