Gads, even without knowing anything about anthropology ... one only has to LOOK at the great apes to see the resemblance to us! (The DNA of chimpanzees is 98% identical to ours - if that's not interesting, I don't know what is.)

We've come a long way baby (from our simian ancestors) - e.g., we can modify our behavior and not simply let our genes and instincts tell us what to. But in our species' sexual behavior and in our predilection for being territorial (and fighting wars due to this trait), and in MANY other behaviors - we can still observe the behaviors we have in common with the great apes.
