When communicating with the company being polite goes a long way. I have never talked to IR and not gotten an answer... sometimes it has been I dont know... but I would rather here that than a lie

Oh but don't worry, listen to stock money and just call the company for answers. Never mind what they tell you on the phone is either vague or never comes true. Just call them if you're uncomfortable with the lack of progress.
