I think I remember Gnosis saying he bought his shares last Spring; which would probably mean he bought in somewhere between 10 and 15 cents.

This means that he just went through months of depression as a result of "buyers remorse", and may not have gotten over it yet. He is pessimistic about recouping his losses any time soon, so he wants the rest of us to suffer along with him.
