Loop..Question..Why is Lucent's Attorneys sanctionable for the action of its Client in hiding documents, misrepresenting existence and allowing destruction of documents..if the Attorney's were mislead by their client? TIA

I have been lucky enough to avoid the experience of sanctions. However, friends of mine have gone through the experience and it is not good. In fact, it can cost big time in the loss of future business because clients believe that the lawyer is washed up in the Court meeting out the sanctions. Marshall is a hot venue and many patent cases will be filed there over the next several years. It is very serious for the lawyers involved and their clients.
