Consumer shares are higher in today's pre-bell session, while Finish Line (FINL) is down 6.8% at $17.75, not far off the 52-week low of $17.41 after it today reported Q3 net of breakeven, versus the Capital IQ consensus of $0.10. Revenues were $296.6 mln, versus the analyst estimate of $296.57 mln.
The company expects Q4 EPS to be $0.74 - $0.78, versus the analyst estimate of $0.82. This guidance assumes Q4 comparable store sales increase in the low single digit range. For FY13, the company now expects earnings per share to be between $1.47 and $1.51. Analysts are looking for EPS of $1.66.
Separately, FINL's Board of directors authorized a 5 mln share increase to its current repurchase program.
Meanwhile, Ulta (ULTA) is down 2% after it reaffirmed its Q4 expectations of sales in the range of $742 to $754 mln and comp sales increasing 5% to 7%. EPS is seen in the range of $0.96 to $0.98 per share. The analyst consensus on Capital IQ is $752.8 mln in sales and earnings of $0.98 per share.
