He also regularly posted messages on internet websites which falsely implied that Rocker Partners had engaged in naked shorting and manipulative trading. Dr. Byrne did this despite statements to the press by his own attorneys that Rocker does not trade in that manner. Indeed, in the recently-filed Amended Complaint, there is not a single allegation about "naked" short selling or the Sith Lord's vast conspiracy to destroy Overstock. None of the various analysts, hedge funds, public officials, and others named by Dr. Byrne as part of the so-called 'Miscreant's Ball' have been made defendants or even mentioned in the Amended Complaint, a tacit admission by Dr. Byrne and Overstock that there was no factual support whatsoever for his outlandish conspiracy allegations.
