SKS has stated repeatedly that he does not want to be a hardware company, he wants to be a services company. Your perspective leans in that direction but I also disagree to an extent. TPM's may well evolve to another version AFTER 1.2 and may be around shipping in all kinds of devices for YEARS and YEARS. (hmmm, let's see, that might even be a decade or more). Just because we are at version 1.2 doesn't mean that is the end of the line. I don't know what the nest generation is after them but I assure you that somebody in this industry is at least looking farther down the road already to see the possibilities.
But, I agree with your thought that let's not get too hyped over the revenue from the TPM's alone. Although, I would like to see some meaningful revenue period, and I don't care where it comes from.
