Clear out your Recycle Bin
The file "space" is still there (on your hard drive), until you empty the recycle bin!

Powerpole run ccleaner. If you haven't run it I'd nearly guarantee it will find a lot of space after it deletes a lot of junk.

I second the ccleaner suggestion. You might also check the size of your recycle bin storage and System Restore reserved space. That can be quite large.
