Both of you are quite right. I'd rather call it "more stringent rules regarding civil conduct and more conscientious enforcement of them", but even the negative-sounding "higher degree of censorship" is technically correct. This site, alone, is run solely by the people who own it, so it's much more hands-on.
The rules are largely the same at all 3 of the bigger sites. The level of enforcement seems to be the biggest difference.
Welcome aboard. On a personal level, I look forward to lots of AMD-related content as I'm relatively AMD-ignorant. I've only got one AMD-powered machine (the server/firewall at the office) and the rest are INTC.
I expect to be buying a new database server for the site before the end of April and the best I'm finding so far (especially for the money) is a dual-Xeon 2.4Ghz box from SuperMicro. It'll set us back $8k, mostly in memory and hard drives. Of course, by the time I place the order, it could be $6k for a dual 3.0Ghz.
Is anyone making similar or better AMD-based equipment? I'd prefer a quad-CPU machine, but it looks like the INTC route for that means a max of 800Mhz per CPU.
