The FedEx cup playoffs are 4 tournaments, not 1. Tiger WAS #1 in FedEx points, prior to the playoffs. He finished #3 in rankings, is still #3, and will always be #3 for 2012.
Think of it as you want, but that's how it is. Brandt Snedeker received the 10 million dollar check for winning the FedEx Cup, not Tiger Woods.
