Jtomm - The use of PM's (private messages) helps a lot!

I would encourage people to use the PM's more often. If someone wants to challenge MSGI for selling his VPHM they should send him a PM.

I use PM's a lot to discuss issues I have with fellow VMC'ers.

USE THE PM's folks!

JTOMM, I agree 100% as the amount of chatter and banter have increased over the last few months.

jtomm: New Board Idea:

Personally, I think what you say makes a lot of sense. I agree that if there were a way to have VMC be ONLY VMC picks, it would be desireable. But, here is the problem. And, I mean a BIG problem.

We have a board for the contest. That is pretty clear. We have a board for politics & religion and nut-job stuff. That is pretty clear. We have a board for non earners. That is pretty clear. Despite this, we have quite a bit of subjectivity and crossover. "Policing it is a pain, but I admire the overall great effort that people put forth to keep them on their respective focus."

I agree that it would be preferrable to have another board that was other than stock-specific. I can't imagine having a situation where someone was responsible to make sure everyone abided by it, but maybe enough people would respect it that it could work.

One of the reasons that we put the ticker symbol and the name of the person the post is directed to first is to help everyone skip to whatever they may be interested in. That, coupled with seeing who the author is helps a person determine whether they want to read the post or not. And, keeping the non-stock posts to a minimum during market hours helps.

Also, if you are premium, you can view 10 posts at a time. And, if you are premium, you can PM. So, there are answers even under the existing conditions that do not apply to Yahoo. I would never believe that this board could begin to deteriorate to Yahoo levels.

Still, I will talk to BW and HW and see whether they agree with you. But, even if they don't (and there would be a variety of reasons why I can imagine that they might not), it wouldn't be because it isn't a good idea. The idea itself is very good. Whether it is practical or workable is the only issue.
