AlJ, Let us remember the original rollout by BMG was 2004 that was prior to the merger between BMG/SONY and before the "Haldeman report" while known by BMG still caused a major set back in usage and impacted us a lot more than first thought possible. The merger between BMG/Sony caused a long pause because ofunx certainty of who was in charge of what and nobody wanted to make a decision that may impact his or her standing in the company! While not like or understood by us, all part of what really happened. It is also a well known fact that Sony had their own protection and was reluctant to use MMXT.Sony having a different culture was looking to protect their technology, plus they had a good relationship with F4.
All of this took time, about a year, to sort out and implement a new policy.

Those among others are the primary reason why revisions in usage estimates were reduced!

You now see the increased usage by both BMG and SONY!

Much more needs to happen industry wide to implement copy management and t reduce the illegal downloading!

alj, maybe you could show me where Sony/BMG said that they thought there would be a "FULL ROLLOUT" by......anytime. That all came from SCMI. If it didn't please give me a link other than a Sunncomm pr that talks about any rollouts. Yes PJ was wrong to use any of the projection without a contract to support any of it. Hey how is the Universal contract doing? We have agreements and that is all. You want to talk APPLE? They will do as they please and what they want when they want. They are not worried about the recording industry. IMO
