Stingray,

You say: "Full rollout by BMG by early spring, was the indication given by BMG/SONY. If Peter used that as part of the projection, is he wrong? The decisions made altered or changed as to usage are not ours to make they are rightfully the decisions made by the Industry and whether we like it or not we have to adapt.
Had no projection been made complaints of why not , no vision would have followed."

That is a crucial point, IMO. Over and over again posters here have come up with accusations of management having "lied" or "promised". when all that was expressed was an estimate, which itself had to rely on the data and statements provided by the recording companies. There is no way round that, and I also well remember vigorous complaints made at various points in time about management's failure to provide estimates.

On that issue, who could envy management? If no estimate had been provided, the accusation would have been of a total lack of information and of company prospects. Now, with an estimate given and nearly three months left before December 31st, the criticisms from some posters come thick as hail.

Coinsidering the information provided by BMG-Sony -- that full roll-out was planned for the spring -- PJ's estimate was logical.

In the meantime, the merger is going forward, and there does at least appear to be a consensus that this now constitutes the most important single issue.
