ECR public relations said that the 12 hour formulation would be next. 24 hour formulation is on the backburner. FDA definitely made the decision to pull Lodrane as a favor to other pharmaceuticals so that they could make a dent into the allergy OTC market without the less expensice Lodrane in the way. No proof of this however transparent as Saran Wrap to me. Yes Lodrane extended release was and still would be that popular among allergy sufferers.
