disentangling what wave seems to be saying from message board turbo-charging, the thoughts that occur to me from rereading this quote -

wave is making incremental progress with the government, but it is a hard grind and they are not conforming to wave's preferred model of organised, across the board deployment. indeed doesn't seem as if there is some foreseeable, grand, dod-wide or government-wide trust deployment on the schedule at this time. but wave has a realistic chance of securing deals with elements of the dod. and it hopes to use these to move onto larger things later.

things that are to do with the army and the air force are the space to watch in 2013. the army opportunity is around 1m units at $30-40/unit. although whether wave can succeed in getting the entire army to use its software is unclear to me.

there are always layers of thoughts about aspirations that baffle the clarity of sentences about what is actually occurring. but this is my takeaway. from a realistic point-of-view, think smaller.
