I think lqmtapple & I were posting at the same time... lol.
Apple just wasn't ready to make 150 million iPhone cases as the exposure could/would have been detrimental to the launch of the new iPhone.
Something simple as the ejector pin would not do any damage as they could simply shift to a conventional metal/alloy mid stream and no one would care or know the difference.
Also, if called out on why half the pins were Liquidmetal and the other half something else, Apple could very easily spin the story.
When it comes to making a Liquidmetal CE device case, I'm thinking that as this gets perfected that Apple could start making the cases months or a year ahead of time to ensure that they are able to adequately able to complete the number needed as well as to have time to correct any kink that may present itself during the manufacturing process.
