Your take on the gagged TA subject is spot on. In fact this particular outfit http://www.transferonline.com/IssuerServices/TransferAgentRegistrar has as it's own policy to NOT release ANY information to the public whether or not you hold shares. They claim it is best practices. What a hoot. So if you use these miscreants you don't have to gag them. They gag themselves and they are not the only TA with this policy.
Not sure why people try to make such a big deal out of this. I've never been in a penny stock where the TA is not gagged. Just a scare tactic that won't work on the many longs like myself who know better...
