why do you feel 923 limits one to pager technology?
From the Patent:
"The wireless communication device, as set forth above, may include a pager, ceelular telephone, personal digital assistant (PDA) or other applicable wireless communication devices structured and designed to perform data communicaiton."
but,
"the wireless communication device is structured to operate on either of at least two independent frequencies"
