You wouldn't believe the traffic around here, Burp...most from the Houston area. I can see the lights on one of the main roads even at this late hour...almost bumper to bumper.
A couple travelling in two vehicles with their daughter (about 12 years old)...a huge black lab and another large dog...part lab and part chow had pulled off one of the FM roads earlier this evening and were walking the dogs. I happened to meet up with them while taking my after-dinner walk.
When I struck up a conversation with the woman I was told they had left Houston at 4:00 a.m. (this was about 7:30 p.m.)...they had prox 20 more miles to go to reach their destination. I asked if I could do anything for them. They needed water for their dogs so they followed me back to my house. Poor babies...I had to fill a container twice... they were so thirsty.
Normally a trip from Houston to this area takes about 3 1/2 hours.
