I have talked to the company about that very issue and they told me that the initial price is very very low per copy but it is reaccuring. It was the only way to get their product in the door to some of these providers such as whitesky (comcast). But from my understanding once the user downloads the software then they have them paying that small licsence fee every year as long as they have that specific security suite. So we just keep building and building. They told me if they didnt do that then they would have possibly had no deal. But like i said they just keep building a base and it keeps growing. A couple pennies for every grain of sand on the beach can end up being huge.
