I think emotions are running high right now for obvious reasons. I find it best to take emotion with a grain of salt at this point. As to the blog concept, itried to address both informal blog as well as periodic web update. You are right, they did this in the past. However, going forward, I expect them to focus on attracting institutional investors with their energy which will require the more traditional news outlet approach. Keep in mind news dissemination is noone's full time job yet. Perhaps they will add that position in the future.
