CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER -- JAMES ZHANG

Dr. Zhang graduated from Tsinghua University with a Ph.D. in opto-electronics. He was a Post-
Doctoral Fellow at Polytechnic University, NY. Prior to moving to the United States, Dr. Zhang was
the deputy director of National Key Lab of Opto-electronics in China in 1996 and he established
himself as one of the youngest leaders in the state project. After moving to the United States, Dr.
Zhang held a number of senior management and technical positions in several multinational
corporations including Motorola, Fujitsu etc. During the past fifteen years. Dr. Zhang managed R&D
teams as well as OEM organizations in China and Taiwan. Dr. Zhang has a solid technical
background (including coating of semiconductor devices etc.) and an excellent track record in
business and general management.

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER – FANG XU

Dr. Xu graduated from the Electrical Department of the well-known Beijing University in China and
got his Master Degree in Electronics from University of Alabama, and Ph.D in Photonics from
University of California, San Diego. Dr. Xu is the chief technology office of Sunvalley Solar Inc., and
is currently in charge of the research and development efforts in the company. Dr. Xu has over 13
years of the experience, both in academic and industrial environment. Dr. Xu has extensive
knowledge in photonics, and optics, as well as micro and nanoscale device processing
technologies. In addition, Dr. Xu has hands on experience in making nanoscale structure that
modifies the effective dielectric properties of the optical materials. Dr. Xu was one of the pioneers
in the country to use polarization selective materials to construction micro and nanoscale
diffractive optical elements. In the past two years, Dr. Xu has gained invaluable knowledge and
experience in advanced solar technologies.

DR. LIN PANG

Dr. Pang is a project scientist in University of California, San Diego. Dr. Pang has over ten years of
in depth experience in nano-photonics, micro-nanofabrication, photoresist synthesis and
processing. He has extensive knowledge in photonics, chemistry, biology, and electronics. He
authored more than 20 research papers on nanofabrication, composite material, optofluidics and
SPP sensing. Dr. Pang holds one patent on large area nano periodic structure fabrication, and also
has two more related patents on pending.

DR. YESHAIAHU FAINMAN

Dr. Fainman is a professor at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Fainman is a world-
renowned scholar and researcher in nano-photonics, artificial dielectrics, surface plasmon
enhanced bio-sensors. His current research interests include programmable diffractive optical
elements; 3-D holographic optical storage; diffractive optics with multifunctionality; optical
information processing with femtosecond laser pulses. Dr. Fainman has over 190 peer review
journal publications and 350 presentations and conference proceedings. Dr. Fainman is a
consultant for Sunvalley Solar Inc. He will provide valuable guidance and contributions to surface
plasmon effects and solar cell characterizations.
