Dr. Zhang graduated from Tsinghua University with a Ph.D. in opto-electronics. He was a Post- Doctoral Fellow at Polytechnic University, NY. Prior to moving to the United States, Dr. Zhang was the deputy director of National Key Lab of Opto-electronics in China in 1996 and he established himself as one of the youngest leaders in the state project. After moving to the United States, Dr. Zhang held a number of senior management and technical positions in several multinational corporations including Motorola, Fujitsu etc. During the past fifteen years. Dr. Zhang managed R&D teams as well as OEM organizations in China and Taiwan. Dr. Zhang has a solid technical background (including coating of semiconductor devices etc.) and an excellent track record in business and general management.
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER – FANG XU
Dr. Xu graduated from the Electrical Department of the well-known Beijing University in China and got his Master Degree in Electronics from University of Alabama, and Ph.D in Photonics from University of California, San Diego. Dr. Xu is the chief technology office of Sunvalley Solar Inc., and is currently in charge of the research and development efforts in the company. Dr. Xu has over 13 years of the experience, both in academic and industrial environment. Dr. Xu has extensive knowledge in photonics, and optics, as well as micro and nanoscale device processing technologies. In addition, Dr. Xu has hands on experience in making nanoscale structure that modifies the effective dielectric properties of the optical materials. Dr. Xu was one of the pioneers in the country to use polarization selective materials to construction micro and nanoscale diffractive optical elements. In the past two years, Dr. Xu has gained invaluable knowledge and experience in advanced solar technologies.
DR. LIN PANG
Dr. Pang is a project scientist in University of California, San Diego. Dr. Pang has over ten years of in depth experience in nano-photonics, micro-nanofabrication, photoresist synthesis and processing. He has extensive knowledge in photonics, chemistry, biology, and electronics. He authored more than 20 research papers on nanofabrication, composite material, optofluidics and SPP sensing. Dr. Pang holds one patent on large area nano periodic structure fabrication, and also has two more related patents on pending.
DR. YESHAIAHU FAINMAN
Dr. Fainman is a professor at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Fainman is a world- renowned scholar and researcher in nano-photonics, artificial dielectrics, surface plasmon enhanced bio-sensors. His current research interests include programmable diffractive optical elements; 3-D holographic optical storage; diffractive optics with multifunctionality; optical information processing with femtosecond laser pulses. Dr. Fainman has over 190 peer review journal publications and 350 presentations and conference proceedings. Dr. Fainman is a consultant for Sunvalley Solar Inc. He will provide valuable guidance and contributions to surface plasmon effects and solar cell characterizations.
PROFESSOR BINGKUN ZHOU
Professor Zhou was born in Sichuan, China in 1936. He graduated from the Department of Radio Electronics in Tsinghua University in 1956. He is a worldwide well-known Opto-electronics expert. He has been engaged in research and teaching on optoelectronics for a long time. Right now Professor Zhou is the vice-president of the National Natural Science Foundation and vice director of the Institute of Semiconductor of Chinese Academy of Science, Professor Zhou is a consultant for Sunvalley Solar Inc and he will provide valuable guidance from opto-electronics side.
