plf, Goldberg said long ago that IDCC has essential IPR in all the standards. Since the company hasn't retracted that statement our long term potential IMO is still very good.
The new batters will come when Nokia is called out at the plate. Kyocera licensing should be a good indication that other CDMA2000 players will also license.
As far as IDCC writing software for games and MP3 players there's no indication by the company they would do so, IDCC's technology is in the heart of the phone not the add ons.
