I see where you are coming from and understand your position Rip, but I don't fully agree. Allow me to explain why.
Understand that if you are in a stock where a post or two on a message board is going to influence price action to that degree, you have to ask yourself..how did I get here. Also understand that, when you exit your position in that stock, someone else is entering....and if they are buying it because someone is giving them the illusion that the company is going places, so you can exit....isn't that just as bad?
I think where we have run into a problem is the mods and members, don't want people to step into the same pile of doodoo we stepped into, so they are quick to warn. That, in your eyes is hurting your opportunity to exit but it might also prevent someone from holding your bags.
I can't stop what my mods do on other boards, but I do ask them to be constructive....that is not always going to mean being positive about a stock if they don't feel that way.
