Ahh, didn't they learn this lesson with Hydrogen with the HIDENBERG in 1937??? It burned to the ground in a matter of minutes.

LOL after that comment my toilet is more credible than you are!

Here you go

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen

At standard temperature and pressure, hydrogen is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, nonmetallic, highly combustible diatomic gas with the molecular formula H2

You can read about a controlled scientific study of the performance effects of mixing Hydrogen with Diesel here :

http://umpir.ump.edu.my/1760/1/Combustion_Characteristics_Of_A_Diesel-_Hydrogen_Dual_Fuel_Engine.pdf

In summary it finds that there is a "sweet spot" that can be achieved with controlled introduction of Hydrogen at the intake manifold by using a mixer before it enters the combustion chamber.
As a result diesel consumption can be reduced. Read the whole thing. It is and independent study.

Bob

I'll try to remember that hydrogen is not highly combustible next time I see a rerun of a Saturn rocket launch!
