LOL, I've heard all the massive conspiracy theories about the MMs. If anyone actually believed them, they certainly wouldn't be investing. It would be like betting on a rigged horse race. Incredibly stupid.
There are thousands of stocks with few or no trades. MMs can't "make sure there's buying and selling". They do love hype driven stocks though because they make lots of money through volume and volatility, just like we flippers.
