#3628 RE: gharma #3627

Thanks for the clarification gharma about friabilty, it's much appreciated.

I'm not an expert, but I'm trying to compare the two companies, AMY and Mesa.

Both seem to have similar patented hydrometalurgical processes for producing EMM, EMD and so on from low grade Mn ore.

My main concern with AMY is management.

I'm just wondering now, why Mesa hasn't succeeded commercially yet, seeing that they had a hydrometallurgical pilot plant up and running and had success in producing EMM and high purity EMD compatible with Li-ion batteries since 2001????? I do believe they had a JV with a Li-ion battery maker, but I'm not sure if that is still ongoing.

Can it be that Mesa management messed things up, or are the costs involved in the process are too high?

If anyone has time, here's a link to Mesa's R&D. Again, they've had pilot plant success since 2001. It's quite interesting. It doesn't look as though AMY is the first in this field.
