It means they are following agreements already made. The licenses to distribute the music from the different record companies are estimated to be worth $100M. No one has similar agreements. Kazaa has never been able to capitalize on them though. No one listens to music on their computer. They finally came out with an app last September but it was clunky and couldn't compete with iTunes. Apps and smart phones are the future of music.
What makes Kazaa even worse is that you lose your music when you drop the subscription. With iTunes, you own it after you buy it. There is no subscription.
