I think they are easing the pps down gradually so as not to cause a panic

You know, I had the thought last night that they may try to bring this down early, but in a slow, seemingly controlled manner rather than letting it drastically plummet. That's not to say people that bought at 1.65 are thinking "oh, it's only down .20 from my buy in, that's not bad!" But it's certainly less scary looking than it dropping .60-.80 in a few minutes.

Maybe not exactly what you were getting at, but there're my ramblings for you.
