Thats correct Robin. You cannot buy with those Margin funds. Only what you have in your account. The great benefit is having your funds available immediately after selling.
People must be careful not to violate the Day Trading rule.
Always keep one in your back pocket in case you need it.
However if you violate some brokers offer a one time forgiveness of the FINRA DT rules. You must call and ask for it though.
