Inservice (that is the way the SD spells it) days are days with no kids. The purpose of the days is to make us better teachers and improve the programs.
The problem is that the presentations are so very lame--a complete waste of time.
This year we have 7 scheduled. The one tomorrow will be the only useful day because there is nothing scheduled--we have time to set up our rooms for the year.
BTW I was told today that I would be teaching 8th grade Social Studies, 7th grade Social Studies and Keyboarding. I knew about the 8th grade Social Studies (new for me this year) and worked hard to prepare for it---I am planned out until the end of Oct.
Teaching 7th grade Social Studies and Keyboarding was a complete shock. I am not prepared at all and will not be prepared when the kids walk in on Wed (if I had known I would have been prepared). Weeeelllllll the upper up don't care about education---they just care about having a warm body in the room (sigh).
