I was just rereading the 2nd Q CC when I stopped and read your post, so I thought that I'd post exactly what SS says about the mobile space:
Christopher: The last question, because you mentioned it, the migration of Trusted Computing into mobile space so-to-speak. What kind of timeline do you anticipate or can you even speculate wildly in this regard with respect to when Wave would necessarily start to divert meaningful amounts of R&D resources into this area. Obviously it's a huge potential market. They're putting together what seems like a standards based infrastructure. I'd just like to hear a little more color on your thoughts about that, if we could.
SKS: So we are actively helping to participate in the standards side of this. And we expect the specification and first version by the end of this year. I think we'll see first products middle of next year.
From an investment perspective, a huge amount of our history was building a proprietary trust infrastructure on a stand-alone device. And I think a tremendous amount of that intellectual property and work directly applies to what's going on in the mobile space.
So, we're able to very heavily leverage off of what we've done in the past, so it's not as expensive for us today to support. At some point in time, however, we'll actually have to put real hands and feet into building stuff. It's a little too early yet. There's not quite enough clarity as to how all the pieces fit together to actually sit down and actually start coding things. So we're really all still participating in the architectural how is it going to work, what's the basic picture phase, before we start pouring concrete for the house.
