#86598 RE: Slyder75 #86547

Yes sir...but sometimes it may come a point that certain stakeholders become more of a priority than others due to current circumstances. I'll use this analogy below.

A basketball coach is basically a manager of a team (The business). The team members, we'll call employees. The parents of the team members, we'll call shareholders. The fans of the team, we'll call the community.

Let's say at some point that the parents (shareholders) begin to come to practices, sitting in on team meetings and basically disrupting everything the coach is trying to accomplish. They are totally undermining the coach's authority and it's getting out on the street to the fans of the team and NOW the fans don't know right from wrong.

So, in order to quell the disruptive behavior of the parents (shareholders), the coach begans having closed practices and team meetings so they can get back to business and start winning championships.

Oh, I'm certain that the fans and the parents will complain and moan and groan about the fact that the coach is no longer allowing anyone to come watch the practices and sit in on team meetings, but it's only temporary to fix the problem at hand. The team members NOW have to become the priority so the team can accomplish it's goal of winning.

Now, I ask you. Who wins in that situation? Just the coach? Just the employees? No, all of the stakeholders win in the end because the coach was able to do his job...sentiment about the team AND the Coach would change immediately when the team proves their worth to the parents and the fans.
