No. You will not know their value. But you will soon know how many you have. Like tomatoes and real estate, the value will be set by the market (when the shares trade publicly, and we don't know when that will be either).

In the absence of a market there is nothing that can tell you their value. We don't have a Central Government Office of Share Valuation, yet.
