To be able to sell something, you do need a buyer so where are you going with this thought.
It is also known that Science Fiction films garner great attention especially those with the likes of White Space. It has pretty much been assumed that White Space will have movie goers (and it will not be just domestic but foreign as well). Interest in these sort of films has been shown to be very high. Skin trade will probably be as good (if not better than White Space)based on the interest of the book itself.
Just because a movie is sold doesn't mean someone is going to buy it.
