Until the Board of Directors actually takes office (they cannot until the newco actually comes into existence under the new articles of incorporation), there is no one with any authority to hire or name a CEO. I imagine that the BOD will - when it takes office - name someone as an acting CEO while they properly conduct a search for a permanent hire.
In short, I don't see any reason whatsoever to conclude that the name of the new CEO is being hidden.
