why would Bryant have information to give the SEC about them, unless he was in some way involved with them?

I don't follow this part. My question is why would Bryant tell jetpilot1101 that they are associates of his?

There has been alot of info to digest lately, with possible Monk connections elsewhere that I have an interest in too. I think I won't be the first one to put it all together.
