Not sure about feeding it. I am pretty ethical here. I absolutely do not believe in spreading fear for my own greed. If I see this going nowhere I will simply leave and not hang around spreading ideas on how to make everyone lose money. Not my thing.
I will on the other hand cultivate by buying when fear is selling. Made some great money by doing this.
