I hear you, and you are right of course.

My imagination goes to the extreme of what being attempted for the first time in our life time, an entire "trust infrastructure" or as alea imagines a "trust matrix".

It's much more than just TPM's and SED's ( yes they are vital) but to think of Trusted Applications running in TrustZone like regular applications run today in the rich OS well it gives me shivers to think of the possibilities.

Internet: The 6 million DoD seats...

I know, on the surface, 6 million seats seems to be an incredibly big number to deploy within a short period of time...

... what one must not forget is that the purpose of the current large scale pilots (BIOS upgrade + remote TPM activation + ETS installation + WEM + ERAS binding) is to verify the configuration settings of each model of legacy PC that are currently installed.

Once these procedures and configuration settings are verified large scale deployment is a largely automated process with minimum human interaction that can scale to any number of PCs/seats.

So, if they want to deploy 6 million seats within 1 (one) year they can do that...
