What you term "unforseen circumstances" I DEEM UTTER INCOMPETENCE. IMO.

Please tell me how you figure those were unforseen circumstances ? The company should have known these issues but instead were asleep at the wheel. "Unforseen circumstances" would have been a flood at their building or an earthquake impeding progress. Not knowing that you "great technology" was not being worked on is NOTHING BUT A MISSTEP BY MANAGEMENT.

Then on top of that allowing the note to convert was even more ridiculos. Your telling me with all the "connections" Linda claims to have she couldnt have arranged something in order to stop the selling ?
