ABH: SS% into the stock market:

I'm concerned about putting it into the stock market, but it is hopeless otherwise. So, my attitude kind of is, why not? I also am extremely bearish on the long term of the stock market. HOWEVER, if SS were pumped into it, MAYBE it could be saved - along with SS.

I actually don't remember what I "voted" for on the survey question, but I think it was less than 10% which belies my previous argument. Frankly, I don't know where to stand on the whole thing because I consider it so hopeless.

The Survey Results were:

"What percentage of Social Security should be invested in the stock market?"

25 Less than 10%
19 10-30%
14 30-50%
13 Over 50%
6 No Answer

Clearly, as a group, we want a "relatively" small amount. However, even THAT number - let's say an average of 27% based on the above - is still WAY above whatever number it will likely end up being, if anything at all.
