Regarding SS....

I think of Social Security as a defined benefit program that reminds me of what the (now) old-fashioned company pension plan was like. It acts as a counterweight for the additional risk most of today's workers take on by managing their 401K and IRA plans.

Aren't we in danger of tipping the system into taking on too much risk if we allow SS to invest in stocks?
