Good exchange about wine amongst the 3 of you.

I thought I learned a long time ago in my travels to the homes of friends[located along the wine strasse from Bad Durkheim to Neustadt to Strasbourg] that the good stuff was drunk at home and never exported. I had some very tasty, dry Austrian and Czech wines on travels there this past year---have not tried any from those locales here in States.

A recent sojourn to the Ukrainian embassy[consulate?] in Georgetown for a party brought an opportunity to taste[OK, more than a taste] a
special pepper flavored vodka. I was told it was a unique stash of the Ambassador, not otherwise seen in states. Truly memorable---it could be a poor excuse that I do not remember location, above. However, I had no trouble walking home.
