GAB Your reply to Spencer is not supported by information provided by Harris and Harris’s Law firm Howery,, Simon Arnold and White of San Francisco.
GAB said in reply "Spencer: F&J was also the firm used by Harris. They, in turn, hired Bunsow as
lead trial attorney. It stands to reason that they would do the same in IDCC v
ERICY, since Bunsow is one of the best in IPR cases."
IMO Harris and IDCC are not represented by the same law firms. In the case of the Harris/ERICY trial
Harris was represented by Howery, Simon , Arnold and White. F&J (Brett Grovett) was used as a local counsel. to provide someone familiar with the working of the Dallas court and logistical support. Maybe JK or Cartex can affirm if he did any presentations in court. Howry had eight members of their firm working on the trail. Note they did not give any credit to F&J or Demory and Gregg. Focal Point developed all the presentation material.
To my knowledge there has not been a change presented to the court to include Bunsow. If they have a good case why would they want to split the fees.?
HARRIS states:
In the trial, Harris was represented by Henry Bunsow of Howrey, Simon, Arnold & White
of San Francisco; Brett Govett of Fullbright & Jaworski of Dallas; and Denise Demory of
Demory & Grigg of San Francisco.
Focal Point states:
The Focal Point worked very closely with both San Francisco based counsel and local counsel in Dallas during all phases of this litigation
Howery states:
"The verdict validates the fundamental work that Harris did and still does in the
communications area," said Henry Bunsow (SF), a partner at Howrey Simon
Arnold & White and lead counsel for Harris. The Howrey team on the case
included partners Alan Fisch (DC), Teresa Corbin (Menlo Park) and Jennifer
Sklenar (LA), and associates Jason Hoffman (DC), Matthew Hocker (Menlo
Park), Jayna Whitt (Menlo Park) and Heather Fan (Menlo Park).
